Bottecchia Cycling Club is drinking Coffee at Feeney’s Dromore West Co. Sligo

There was a total of 16 of us on the road today with 15 of us heading off in one group towards Coolaney, with some of the big guns missing this week we were all wondering who was gonna step up and take control.
3 of the lads started @ 7am with the early bird & as ya can see from the picture, Keith clearly had no plans for the rest of the day, only to sleep! as he put in an impressive 176kms averaging 30kms/hr.
The group stayed together out into the wind on a challenging surface passed Cloonacool where we turned right for the Mass Rock climb, as the group started to break up it was Stephen Mullane who pulled the bull by the horns and lead 6 riders away from the group to allow the rest to catch their breath and climb at their own pace as the coffee stop was beckoning where we could all re-group.
With social distancing in mind getting to the stop all broke up wasn’t the worst thing in the world but we still got to sit outside and soak up the Sunday sun.
The day was going perfectly and we were looking forward to the tail wind home until rider number 16 pulled into Feeney’s for the trip home , our very own Brian Sexton on his beloved TT bike , shit just real and Brian set the pace in the coast road with Aidan Mullane doing his best to box him in and slow him down , the group broke again as it was a small road for such a big group, safety first and thankfully we all made it home in one piece, not a spin we normally do but there wasn’t TOO Many complaints, and surely Marek will have to do it all again, 100.00kms front door to front door , the perfect spin
.
This Wednesday see the 3rd round of the Sligo League , a TT from Carraroe to Calry via Dromahair .
